FAQ'S

Here are some answers to your Frequently Asked Questions

ARE THE WEEKS ALLOCATED FOR KIDS WITH DISABILITIES ONLY FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?

We promote inclusion whenever and wherever possible. It would be lovely to see new friendships between children with disabilities and those who are without. The week (or weeks) set aside for kids with disabilities are open to all primary aged students. Participants do need to be aware, however, that the structure will be different and the activities have been chosen to best suit children with disabilities and who require all the noise, stimulus and energy toned down.

WHAT DOES THE DAILY PROGRAM LOOK LIKE? AND WHAT IS THE WEEKLY FEES?

Each day there is option to drop your child off for an early start at 7:30am, normal drop off is from 8am with activities beginning at 9am. Children may be picked up anywhere from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE IN MY CHILD'S BACKPACK?

You will need to pack a lunch for your child, just like a normal day of learning at school. However, please consider when packing your child's bag that our daily program offers opportunities for Morning Tea, Lunch and an Afternoon snack. We strongly encourage you to pack more than 1 water bottle for your child as it is going to be a HOT summer. We also ask that you ensure that your child brings their  own broad brimmed hat to wear as well as their own sunscreen to apply throughout the day.

HOW ARE KIDS GROUPED DURING EACH DAYS PROGRAM?

A range of activity groups will be outlined at the beginning of the day and then again after each break, children are able to determine what activities they would like to participate in, which varies the size of each group. Our fluid program allows children to have the autonomy to choose the activities they would like to, as well as suggesting the direction of the days activities based on their interests.

DO YOU OFFER THE CHILDCARE SUBSIDY (CCS)?

Unfortunately, not. We are an independent organisation run by qualified teachers and coaches and this gives us the autonomy to provide an exceptional program the way kids and families actually like it. All the fees and registration may be found ON THIS PAGE. We know our programs are not the cheapest out there but we are MASSIVE on VALUE and SMILES!

WHO ARE THE SPECIAL GUESTS?

Part of the EDwoodUCATION Holiday Program held at Hodgson Vale Sports Club this December/ January Holidays will include visits from ‘Special Guests’.  These ‘Special Guests’ are members of the local community who have talents and skills that we would like to share with your children. We are hoping to have a ‘Special Guest’ to come in to take the kids in our vacation program for a session to introduce and engage them to new and exciting activities. ‘Special Guest’ workshops may include: Golf, Karate, Indigenous Games, Music and Yoga.
